You should always feel comfortable and safe in your own home. Do you? I do but part of the reason I do is because I have a few extra safety products around my home. They give me a feeling of extra security. You know, just in case I face an intruder or in the event I start thinking about the “what-ifs” that we all conjure up in our minds on occasion.
Women of all ages, especially seniors and older ladies, feel vulnerable at various times. I want every woman to feel safe and secure all the time. That is to say I feel that home is the place where that is most important.
Staging Your Protection
That’s what we call it here at Damsel in Distress. Staging Your Protection means you are prepared by answering a couple questions:
- If an intruder came into your home or place of business, do you know what you would do? Do you have a plan of action?
- How far away is your phone? Could you get to it to call someone if an emergency arose? I usually have my cell in my pocket, but could I dial a number or even punch in 9-1-1 it in time?
Top safety products
You are prepared to defend yourself immediately with safety products if you are attacked. Consider these top four safety product options:
Pepper Spray
Damsel in Distress pepper sprays feature a locking, glow-in-the-dark nozzle with a safety feature that prevents accidental discharge. Stun Gun
This is the ultimate in safety products. Stun guns use high voltage and low amperage to deliver an electrical charge to the point of contact on an attacker. There is no kick-back and the voltage cannot pass through the gun or the body of the attacker if you are touched. The Damsel in Distress stun gun safety product comes with a disable pin. This pin prevents an attacker from wresting the stun gun away from you and using it on you. Consequently, it cannot be used against you without the pin inserted.

The 5-Second Reach guideline
